Summary of the story
In 2600 BC, the despotic ruler Ahk-Ton of Kahndaq subjected his subjects to enslavement for the purpose of mining Eternium, which he utilized to create the Crown of Sabbac, thereby securing his power and invincibility. Following an unsuccessful attempt to stage a rebellion, a young slave boy was bestowed with the powers of Shazam by the Council of Wizards, transforming him into Kahndaq's valiant champion, who vanquished Ahk-Ton, thereby ending his reign.
In the present day, Kahndaq is under the oppressive rule of the Intergang, a criminal organization, while Adrianna Tomaz, an archaeologist, endeavors to locate the Crown of Sabbac with the assistance of her brother Karim and colleagues Samir and Ishmael. Within the tomb, Adrianna acquires the crown, but the Intergang troops slay Samir. As a last resort, she recites an incantation that rouses Teth-Adam from his slumber. After decimating the Intergang troops, US government official Amanda Waller deems Adam a menace and contacts the Justice Society to apprehend him. Members of the Justice Society, including Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher, halt Adam's killing spree and elucidate to Adrianna that Adam was not a savior but a captive killer.
Ishmael discloses himself as the leader of Intergang's Kahndaq division and abducts Adrianna's son Amon, who has concealed the crown. Ishmael reveals himself as the last descendant of King Ahk-Ton. The group locates the crown and returns it to save Amon, but Ishmael endeavors to murder Amon. This causes Adam to lose control, resulting in the death of Ishmael and the injury of Amon.
