Summary of the story
Following a tour of factory locations in Mansfield, Ohio on behalf of her father's company, Zhang Innovations, Hong Kong-based Daya Zhang and her entourage were taken captive by mercenaries, despite the efforts of her bodyguard and head of security, Bao Yung, to fend them off. Yung was left unconscious with a USB flash drive, which was addressed to security expert Ray Breslin.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Breslin encountered Shen Lo, a former bodyguard for Zhang Innovations. Both men were pursuing Daya's father, Wu Zhang, whose company was responsible for constructing covert prisons worldwide. They met with Breslin's associates, including his girlfriend Abigail, Hush, and Jules, when Yung arrived with the flash drive. The drive contained a video message from Lester Clark, Jr., Daya's kidnapper and the son of Breslin's former partner. Lester, Sr. had betrayed Breslin in business with Zhang, resulting in his death.
Breslin contacted his associate, Trent DeRosa, and together they traced the video to a prison compound in Latvia known as "Devil's Station." Abigail was also taken captive, and Wu, who had arrived in Mansfield to meet with the police, received a video call from Lester. Seeking revenge for his father's demise, Lester demanded a ransom of $700 million and executed a hostage. Breslin, DeRosa, Jules, Shen, and Yung departed for Latvia to rescue Daya and Abigail.
