Summary of the story
In 2005, Wendy Christensen, a high school student, embarked on a trip to an amusement park in Pennsylvania with her boyfriend Jason Wise, her best friend Carrie Dreyer, Carrie's boyfriend Kevin Fischer, and their classmates to commemorate their graduation. During their ride on the Devil's Flight roller coaster, Wendy experienced a premonition that the hydraulics securing the restraints and train cars would fail, leading to the death of all passengers. She managed to persuade nine individuals, including Kevin, Ashley Freund, Ashlyn Halperin, Frankie Cheeks, Lewis Romero, Ian McKinley, and Erin Ulmer, not to board the roller coaster. However, Jason and Carrie, among the remaining passengers, perished in the derailment.
Several weeks later, Kevin informed Wendy about the explosion of Flight 180 and the subsequent deaths of the survivors, leading him to believe that they may be in a comparable situation. Ashley and Ashlyn were later burnt alive in malfunctioning tanning beds at a tanning salon, further convincing Wendy and Kevin that Death was pursuing them. They then embarked on a mission to save the remaining survivors by utilizing omens concealed in photographs of the survivors that Wendy had taken on the night of the crash.
