Summary of the story
Three months subsequent to their triumph over Buddy Pine, also known as Syndrome, the Parr family, commonly referred to as the Incredibles, and Lucius Best, known as Frozone, engaged in a battle against the Underminer to prevent the destruction of the city hall. However, they were unable to prevent the Underminer from robbing a bank and escaping, resulting in collateral damage. This led to the government shutting down the Superhero Relocation Program, thereby denying supers financial assistance. Agent Rick Dicker accidentally erased Tony Rydinger's entire memory of Violet's superhero identity instead of just the event, when Tony discovered her secret.
Winston Deavor, a wealthy businessman, and his sister Evelyn, who operate a media and telecommunications conglomerate called DevTech, proposed covert missions to Lucius, Helen, and Bob. These missions would be recorded and publicized to restore public trust in superheroes. Winston selected Helen for the initial missions, believing her to be less prone to accidents than the men. Bob struggled in his new role as a stay-at-home parent, attempting to manage Dash's math homework, Violet's heartbreak over Tony's memory wipe, and the chaos of baby Jack-Jack's emerging superpowers.
