Summary of the story
A decade after vanquishing Hades' Kraken, Perseus, the demigod progeny of Zeus, presently resides as a fisherman with his young offspring Heleus, following the demise of his wife Io. Zeus pays a visit to Perseus and implores his assistance, citing that humans have ceased to offer prayers to the gods, resulting in the gods' waning power and consequent mortality. This, in turn, has rendered them incapable of sustaining the walls of Tartarus, which are presently restraining the imprisoned Titan Kronos from attaining freedom. Despite Zeus's plea, Perseus, prioritizing his family's safety, declines to participate.
Zeus convenes with his siblings Hades and Poseidon, as well as his son Ares, within Tartarus. He solicits Hades's aid in reconstructing the walls of Tartarus, but Hades spurns the offer and launches an attack on Zeus. Ares, having resolved to betray his father, also assaults Zeus. In the ensuing altercation, Poseidon sustains fatal injuries. Hades and Ares incarcerate Zeus and purloin his thunderbolt. They intend to negotiate with Kronos, offering to preserve their immortality in exchange for draining Zeus's divine power to revive Kronos. The walls of Tartarus crumble, unleashing a horde of monsters upon the world.
